About us
Learning together. Growing together. Walking the Wild Path.
The Wild Path Homeschool Co-op is a community of families committed to creating a rich, supportive, and joyful homeschooling experience. Based in Red Lodge, Montana, we bring together parents, children, and educators who believe learning should be hands-on, child-centered, and rooted in curiosity.
We serve Pre-K through 4th grade, expanding each year as our children grow, and we welcome families from all backgrounds and walks of life. Our members include stay-at-home parents, working parents, and professionals—united by a shared belief that education can be both deeply personal and community-driven.
Our Approach
We believe children learn best when they are:
Encouraged to explore their interests
Given time in nature and opportunities for creative expression
Surrounded by a supportive, multi-age peer group
Guided by adults who care deeply about their growth and individual education needs
Our weekly Friday meet-ups follow the Wild and Free program guide, blending arts & crafts, science labs, social studies, nature play, and community activities. Families are also invited to join extracurriculars, field trips, and seasonal celebrations throughout the year.
Our Values
Community First – It takes a village to raise and educate a child, and we strive to be that village.
Inclusivity – We are non-denominational, non-religious, and open to all families who value kindness, respect, and collaboration.
Holistic Education – We nurture the mind, body, and spirit through a balance of academics, play, and life skills.
Parent Partnership – Parents are not just members—they are teachers, mentors, and friends within our community.
Why “The Wild Path”?
Our name reflects our belief that education doesn’t have to follow a straight, paved road. It can be a winding path—sometimes messy, often surprising, but always rich with discovery. On The Wild Path, we walk alongside one another, sharing the journey and celebrating the milestones together.
